Welcome Lenis!
We are thrilled to introduce Lenis Perez as our new part-time Executive Director. A Merrimack Valley native, Lenis holds a BS from St. John's University and currently serves as the Associate Executive Director of Youth Development at the Merrimack Valley YMCA. With over 12 years of nonprofit experience, she has received multiple accolades, including the MVYMCA President's Award in 2023. Lenis will manage key operations and work with committee chairs to enhance our impact and ensure effective program delivery. We look forward to her valuable contributions to A Better Chance of Andover.

Dia Chooses Williams
Even as college classes went online this spring, admissions and financial aid offices were sending out acceptances to high school seniors. ABC graduating senior Dia is excited to share that she has chosen Williams College, where she plans to study environmental science and policy.

Our ABC house is quiet without the presence of our Scholars during this Covid-19 crisis. We miss them greatly and are so appreciative of the messages and gifts of support during this time. May we emerge from this crisis stronger together.
Raise a Glass Fundraiser Tops Off Great Year
A big shout-out to our host, Jim Cass and his team at the Oak & Iron Brewery. The sold-out event raised over $6,000 and gave us a chance to meet new friends and catch up with longtime supporters.
$100,000 Grant Through Cummings Foundation’s “$100K for 100” Program
A Better Chance of Andover is one of 100 local nonprofits to receive grants of $100,000 each through Cummings Foundation’s “$100K for 100” program. The Andover-based organization was chosen from a total of 597 applicants, during a competitive review process. Cummings Foundation has announced a total of $20 million in grants to Greater Boston charities in the past two months alone.

As always, the ABC of Andover Scholars’ Celebration Dinner began with a delightful slideshow highlighting the fun events of the year and squeals of recognition emanated throughout the log cabin.
