Photography to Dystopian Literature
While the Scholars are back to a busy fall in Andover, their summers were also full of new opportunities. Abby attended the 2-week Notre Dame Summer Scholars program where she took a class on dystopian literature and also completed all the summer work for her upcoming AP Calc and AP Literature course. Kijari also attended an academic summer program— hers was at Brown where she took a pre-med class that emphasized ethics in medicine. She participated in the Hugh O’Brien leadership seminar in early August as THE sophomore nominated to attend from AHS! Larissa honed her photography skills in a photo class through a public arts program in Chicago and also prepared for her upcoming fall classes. A few of her favorites are below. You can follow her on instagram.
While Gabby learned the ins and outs of managing a racial justice account on instagram, she also focused on math in preparation for her upcoming honors math course. Kiarra participated in theater and poetry class to expand her artistic engagement. She also helped her mom making deliveries for her grandmother’s flower shop. And you can read all about Aisosa, our newest Scholar, on our website. As usual, our scholars found ways to keep building their skills over the summer and are continuing their hard work this fall back at Andover High.
