$50,000 Raised

On June 2 we launched our Safely Opening Doors match campaign in support of our Scholars. This initiative was started by generous community donors and former ABC Board member Peter and his wife Nancy Jeton.

When we set the goal to raise $30,000 and met the goal, Cynthia and Jim Marsh and other generous donors were so moved by the outpouring of community response that they pledged to match an additional $10,000.

So we stretched our Safely Opening Doors campaign to raise $50,000 this June. And with the generosity of our ABC of Andover community we surpassed even that goal. We had contributions from donors who have given for decades and contributions from first-time donors and so many other new and returning friends.

This fundraising was critical especially as we were not able to host our June Raise a Glass fundraiser due to coronavirus. And also due to the virus we have work ahead of us to ensure that we are able to safely open our doors this fall to our scholars and staff.

The support of our generous community will make a transformational difference in the lives of our Scholars as we prepare young women of color for college and leadership beyond. Our alumni, and the over 16,000 alumni of A Better Chance, are working to change our society and serve as a vision of what’s possible with an equitable education. Thank you!
