The Resident Assistant (RA) lives in the ABC house on Main Street in Andover with free room and board, in a family-style environment with 8-10 Scholars. ABC Scholars come from around the country to attend Andover High School for a pathway to college.

Our ABC program provides a holistic approach for nurturing academic and leadership skills and Resident Assistants are mentors with huge impact during the Scholars’ journeys in Andover. RAs work with our residence staff to oversee the Scholars’ daily lives, providing a supportive and structured atmosphere that promotes excellence in all areas of the Scholars’ lives. Hours range on a rotating schedule from 15-25 hrs per week.

We have a lively group of amazing Scholars, a warm environment, a large house with strict Covid safety protocols, and an ABC community that exudes inspiration and hope for a better, more diverse and compassionate tomorrow.

Compensation:

RAs receive large private bedrooms, dinners, cable, Internet, utilities and off-street parking for the academic school year.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree (or in pursuit of a degree)

• Current drivers license and car with auto insurance

• Ability to exercise authority and maintain discipline with compassion and consistency within a close dormitory living situation

• Possess maturity, leadership, good judgment, strong communication and decision-making skills, a sense of humor, a collaborative nature, enthusiasm, flexibility, and a strong desire to help young women of color succeed

• Can be enrolled as a full-time student or employed elsewhere

• Prior experience working with high school students a plus
