We enjoy hearing from our alumni and where they have journey in life. Here are a few snapshots of some of ABC of Andover’s alumni.

Ian Dowe ‘84 recognized for Athletic Achievements

On March 25, Ian Dowe was inducted into the Punchard – Andover High School Athletic Hall of Fame. During his years at Andover High School (AHS), Ian played football and track. His many accomplishments include:

  • All-Merrimack Valley Conference defense first team 

  • Merrimack Valley Conference sack leader

  • Eagle-Tribune All-Star in football and track

  • Selected player in Shriners’ All-Star game

  • Merrimack Valley Conference shot put champion

  • AHS Indoor shot put record holder (55’ 11¼“)

  • AHS 100m track record holder for 26 years (10.7 seconds)

  • MIAA All-State Champion 4x100 yard relay team

  • Member of 1984 undefeated AHS Track Team

During his acceptance speech, Ian chronicled his life from Jamaica to the Bronx, NY, to eventually Andover, where he was “given this incredible opportunity to come to Andover High School, get a first-class education, and continue on my American Dream.”

Ian joins another alum, Carnell Cooper ‘73, who has also been inducted into the Hall of Fame for his track accomplishments. 

Geno Concepcion ‘71 recently retired from a career in the military and global industry. Lives in Middleton, DE and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity. 

Will Arvelo ’79 is currently Executive Director of Crossroads House in Portsmouth, NH since Sept 2021.

Deanna Star ‘14 is a Production Finance Coordinator with NBC Universal Media, LLC in LA. She was married in December 2022.

A’mari Bing-Way ‘17 graduated from American University of Paris in 2021 and will return to Andover this summer to earn her M.Ed, Community Engagement on a fellowship at Merrimack College.  

Déanna Clarke ’17 graduated from Boston University in 2021 and currently works as a Privacy Program & Policy Analyst at Venable LLP in Washington, D.C.

Gloria Rosario Wallace, Ed.D  ‘99 is the Executive Director of Strategy and Implementation, Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging, with the New York City Department of Education.
