Where’s Everyone This Summer?

 Where will our Scholars be this summer?

School is officially out for the summer! Now our Scholars head towards a busy schedule of academics, employment and we hope a little downtime after a school year like no other. As Abby prepares to matriculates at Bentley, here are a few of the plans for our Scholars who will be returning in the fall.

👏🏽 Junior Kijari - Will be working with the QuestBridge, a highly selective college prep program for high achieving students from underrepresented backgrounds. Kijari will also be volunteering in Atlanta with MedShare, coordinating shipments of critical medical supplies to communities in need around the world.

🌆 Junior Larissa - Will be working at “One Summer Chicago,” a city program where she has worked with youth for the last two years. 

🏫 Sophomore Gabby - Received a scholarship to attend a Brown University summer session class “Economics of Social Justice.” 

💐 Sophomore Kiarra - Will be working as a member of the high school council for the attorney general’s office plus working in product marketing for a handmade incense and candle company

🎭 First year Aisosa - Will be taking an online full credit geometry class offered by AHS. She hopes to pursue her passion for drama and music through a local theater program in Washington, DC.

In addition, several Scholars will be working on summer coursework for their AP classes; remote math tutoring;  and of course, summer reading! 📚
